Trying to encourage branching for both Tebows

Today, I sliced off the top growth tips of both Tebows to encourage branching. Julie continues to put out new flush of vegetative growth.

Pics from next day.
(Update Nov 1), I noticed that both Tebows were pushing out growth from the sliced tip. So I sliced it off again, at least I know its growing.

Mango Trees at Office

I was able to fit four trees into this one window pane sill at my desk.
Manila had to be in the next.
Tebow straight.
Tebow bent.
Julie #2 looks like the angel of death is hovering over it. I gave it some sugar water but don't know if that would help it? The root stock looks like its giving up.
I think Julie #1 is gonna put out a growth flush.
Maybe?
Anyrate, I found out that the temperature at the studio is 75º F during the day and 70º F at night. Which is way better than outside temps; being 60's and 50's.

Winter is coming

 A sunny day.
Tebow is plumping back up a bit from looking a little shriveled after the repoting.
 Nothing much happening with Manila.
 Bent Tebow is healthy.
 Nothing much happening with Julie.
Julie #2 is looking terrible. It seems after repoting her roots can't support her small canopy and is rejecting all her branches.
So I took a gamble and cut off her branches entirely. Right back to a green stem. Don't know if she'll recover. Will keep post.
The rains have arrived so I thought it would be time to move them to the window sill at work. I made a little mess with the algae on the pots smearing the upholstery in my car.
I'm glad I replanted my mangoes in these pots as they made it easier to move. I read I can leave my plants in these pots for 4 years or more. After my house is built I'll look at the possibility of planting them in 15 gallon fabric containers.
I didn't take a picture of their final destination but later I'll take pics. I am a little worried that the dryness of the studio can be harsh but I'll have to water them frequently. Now my backyard looks lonely.

Same ol'...

Julie #2 is very much rejecting her two smaller branches. Other than that nothing new.

Julie #2 & Gang.

Julie #2 her two smaller branches are splitting from the main stem.
The gang at 6pm.
Yeah.

Tebow's Roots!!

Well I couldn't help myself and I went about re-potting Tebow (straight) and I got to take pictures of its root development. And boy its really growing!
 Go roots go!!
After re-potting.
Its a little skewed. Gad its gonna drive my obsessive compulsiveness to 11.
I love these red diatomaceous rocks. Pretty.

The gang

I am starting to think Julie #2 is rejecting her two smaller branches in order to favor her bigger branch to get all the vigor. I am starting to think I should have cut the big branch when I had the chance. Oh well.
Julie #1 is still the same. Nothing happening.
Same for the Tebow brothers. Nothing.
I am imagining they're growing their roots before any attempt at putting out more leaves.
Manila looks a bit sad but I haven't noticed any drooping leaves or anything so far indicating the angel of death hovering over my mango tree.
Yabadabadoo.

Mangoes

Group shot.
I think some of the diatomaceous rock is pretty.

Julie #2 weird disease

Its weird but Julie #2 is showing something strange at the joint of the branch, where it seems to be splitting or detaching from the main stem. I think this is why new buds are dying off?
Its weird.

Pruned Manila Mango

I chopped Manila down to about 2 feet.
Took the pruned piece and did a crap graft job onto what was remnant of Edward. What the heck.
I feel sad for Edward. But amazingly, the turpentine root-stock was still alive.

Gro Pots (5 gallon)

Well here is the gang all repotted into 5 gallon Gro Pots.
Julie is not doing much in the root department.
Julie #2 is someone I need to keep an eye on. Again not much new roots when I replanted her.
Tebow (straight) was putting out some nice new roots! I should've taken pictures but I didn't have my camera nearby. I have high hopes he'll really take off.
Same with bent Tebow. His roots were really growing and like his brother, they were big & juicy.
I dug up Manila. I screwed up the digging process and ripped up its roots. I was running out of soilless coir medium so I mixed half and half with hydroton. I wouldn't be surprise if Mianila dies. I really damaged the botom section of its roots. Blah on me for being so impatient.
I'll report on how it they all fare.

October 2nd, 2010.

Here are the Tebow brothers. Straight Tebow drop a couple of leaves today. Still going strong I hope.
The Julie sisters are okay. Julie #2 has leaf burn on all the new shoots. Blah.
Group shot.
Manila is really going for it.
Can't wait to repot them all!
