Repotted Mango Update

I plan to transplant them all into fabric containers. I've been reading about fabric containers and I think I'm gonna try them out. I bought 10 of them off eBay and hopefully my mangoes will forgive me as I transplant them again.

Next day

Well, the re-potted plants haven't shown any signs of shrivelling. I think. The brown blotches are increasing on "straight Tebow." Perhaps I should cut them off?

 "Bent Tebow" has the brown blotches too. So far it may be sunburn.

It was a nice hot and humid day today in Northern California.

 Julie looks okay. I wish I had psychic powers to know how the roots on my mangoes are doing.

Repotting my Mangoes into 3 gallon containers

I decided to repot Julie into a 3 gallon container so I could move it easily when I eventually do move out of my house. I was surprised to see that the root mass was small but I did see new root growth but not much.

I decided to also repot the Tebows. I planted them into "Roots Organics" medium mixed with Aussie Gold, Diatomaceous Rock with a hydroton base fill. The roots look small for both straight and bent Tebow. But I did see some hints of new root development. Hopefully I didn't damage the roots.

Ingredients: Coco fiber, perlite, pumice, worm castings, bat guano, kelp meal, oyster shell flower, greensand, soluble kelp, glacial rock dust, and leonardite.

Here both have been planted into soilless medium with a topping of diatomaceous rock.

I put a drip irrigation tubing to water them. The "Roots Organics" medium has a lot of organic fertilizer, so I have to watch out for burning.

Both Tebows are showing what I am guessing is sunburn. I hope it is; as a fungus attack would make me depressed.

Once Julie #2 leaves have hardened, I'm gonna transplant her into the same type of pot and soilless medium.

New Tebows update.

Both new Tebows are doing fine so far. I am wondering about repotting them too but perhaps I should just keep them in their current container and not push my luck. One year in these container & soil will be okay.

Well, I am now thinking of repotting my Julies into 3 gallon containers. The more I think about it, the more I think it will be tough transporting these containers. I think one year in a 3 gallon pot will be okay. At least until I get my greenhouse. My worry is that transplanting will set back the growth or even kill them. Although, Julie #1 was transplanted several times and manage to survive.

Julie #2 new leaves are growing bigger. One of the leaves got chewed on by a bug.
