So, today I decided to cut Lemon Zest in half. I noticed that buds were starting to push out from the trunk and thought this would be the time to prune it down and start its path towards bonsai-dom.

I placed the chopped half into a vase of water. I will try to graft using parts from this piece, later on.
I noticed this when I first got the tree. It had the same problem as my dead Orange Sherbet. Part of the bark is dead; probably from sun-scald or frost damage when it was younger. Causing this crack to open up. I cleaned it a bit with a sharp knife and hope it will heal over.
Hmmm.
