Edward is looking bad but he still has a tiny bit of green above the graft line. Perhaps a tiny chance it might survive but not sure. Just hopeful thinking.
Desperate, I cut off the dying wood above and with my trusty knife, shaved and excised any trace of dead bark.
Then out of more lunacy, I placed a small piece of Julie (I had to trim off one of its small shoots to control the number that was sprouting anyway) on Edward. Hoping it will randomly make contact with its cambium.
It will be a, million to one, miracle if it actually takes.
