Lemon Zest grafts

I removed the tape from around the graft to see how it healed. I was nervous about breaking it but here it is. The graft with the leaves healed nicely; the other graft had slipped out a little (must have happened when I initially wrapped it) but it healed; albeit, I'm thinking its weak. If it lives it might push growth.
More focused view of the better graft.

Regrafting.

Maha Chanok regrafting.
I noticed that the grafts were sowing signs of failing. So I removed the rubberband and tape and saw that it was marginally attached but for the most part they were turning black.
So in an attempt to save the scions, I cut them off and grafted them onto seedling root stocks. I hope it works.

This Maha scion is a bit shriveled, so I'm not sure if it will survive. I did a veneer graft with it because the diameter were so different from the root-stock.

My Glenn graft looks like it worked.

My weird approach/veneer graft

A while ago, I pruned this section off of Lemon Zest and plopped it into a vase of water. I discovered it was still alive and pushing shoots. So I got one of my seedlings and veneered grafted it to the trunk of the pruned stem. It seems to be working because of the growth but I can't be certain. I will keep an eye on it for a few months and see.

Lemon Zest grafts.

Below, is a close up of my successful Lemon Zest graft.

Here is what was originally the discarded remnant of my Lemon Zest pruning; sprouting new growth.
I did a "desperate" inarching/approach graft to get roots to support this pruned stem.
I don't know if it will work but it couldn't hurt to try.

Update MC & LZ; August 7th, 2012

MC is showing signs of pushing buds out. LZ's leaves are getting bigger.
I didn't take a picture of it yet but one of the Lemon Zest grafts I did is starting to push out new growth. Will add pics later.

Maha Chanok pruned in half.

Lemon Zest's new shoots are doing okay.

Grafted MC's left-over cuttings onto one of my Tebow's and Glenn.

I hope it works.
