I don't know what came over me but I ordered a 'Lemon Zest' mango today from toptropicals.com

To my surprise, I discovered Carrie putting out new growth. I thought this plant wasn't going to do anything till next year.

 Wow, its trying to flower.

 There are four buds/shoots coming from the top.

 2 or 3 shoots.

 This might flower as well. Not sure if I'm happy with it flowering at such a small size.

I've been growing some mango seedlings in 1.5 liter containers. This Kent seedling caught my eye because it had the reddest leaves of the seedlings growing. I took it to work and am gonna try to grow it there. The cool thing is, I get to see the roots grow along the side of the container.

My Orange Sherbet (Lemon Zest) is dead.

 What a sad waste of money. sigh.

This is sad. I scraped off all the black & dead bark until I reached wood and whatever green to the sides I could find. It really stinks that I couldn't pick out the trees myself before buying it. I guess its my karma to inherit this crappy diseased tree; one thing for sure, I'll never buy a 7 gallon tree again from TopTropicals. Its too expensive considering the low quality.
